SafeHire NC aggregates public licensing records from the North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors (NCBEEC), the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors (NCLBGC), the State Board of Examiners of Plumbing, Heating & Fire Sprinkler Contractors, and the North Carolina Secretary of State. Where shown, insurance information is checked against the North Carolina Industrial Commission's public coverage database, and safety information against the public OSHA establishment database.
Our records are a snapshot, not a live feed. A license can be renewed, suspended, or revoked after we last checked it. Each profile shows when its data was last verified. Before signing a contract or making a payment, always confirm a contractor's current license status directly with the issuing board. We link to the official board databases on every profile to make that easy.
SafeHire NC is an independent, privately operated resource. We are not a government agency and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the State of North Carolina or any of its licensing boards.
A "Verified" badge means the contractor's identity and stated credentials were reviewed by our team at a point in time. It is not a guarantee of work quality, ongoing insurance coverage, or future conduct. Hiring decisions are yours alone, and we encourage checking references, obtaining written estimates, and confirming insurance certificates directly.
Because our data is aggregated automatically, errors can occur. Every profile has a Report Issue button, and every report is reviewed by a person before any change is made. Contractors can also request corrections to their own listings the same way.
